Clément Cogitore’s THE WAKHAN FRONT and more TFL Alumni in 54th Cannes Critics’ Week...
April 20, 2015
We are proud to announce that French director
Clément Cogitore’s debut feature
THE WAKHAN FRONT, developed at
Script&Pitch 2012 is
one of the 7 films selected to participate in the Competition of the 54th edition of Cannes Film Festival’s oldest sidebar, the
Critics’ Week.
Produced by TFL Alumnus
Jean-Christophe Reymond (
FrameWork 2011) for his French company
Kazak Productions, the film was shot between France and Morocco in late 2014 and is co-produced by Tarantula (Belgium). International sales will be handled by Indie Sales (France).
We are pleased that
the 7-title Competition line-up also features
three more TorinoFilmLab Alumni. Interchange 2013 brother-duo
Arab & Tarzan Abunasser (Palestine) will participate with their debut feature
DÉGRADÉ, one of the first films supported by the
Breizh Film Fund, created in 2014 by TorinoFilmLab’s long-time Breton partner
Le Groupe Ouest (France). Last but not least,
Script&Pitch 2015 participant
Jonas Carpignano (Italy) is selected with his debut
MEDITERRANEA.
TorinoFilmLab is delighted to collaborate again with the Critics’ Week for the second edition of Next Step, the
programme aimed at supporting the 10 short filmmakers discovered in 2015 by La Semaine de la Critique as they branch out into feature films.
Consisting of a 5-day workshop held in France in December, Next Step will give the filmmakers the opportunity to discuss their projects with international experts and tutors, in order for them to receive advice on their scripts, to understand the reality of the industry and define an appropriate development strategy.
