TorinoFilmLab reminds you that the calls for applications for FeatureLab – 360 and FeatureLab – audience design are open until March 1st, and is pleased to announce the confirmed trainers for the 2017 edition of the programme!
FeatureLab – 360
Guest Directors
Antonio Piazza & Fabio Grassadonia – TFL Alumni, Antonio & Fabio are an Italian directorial duo hailing from Sicily. Their TorinoFilmLab-supported debut feature SALVO won both the Grand Prize and the France 4 Discovery Award at the Cannes Critics’ Week 2013, and went on to have a very successful festival run. They are currently in post-production of their much-anticipated second feature SICILIAN GHOST STORY.
Script consultants
Marietta von Hausswolff von Baumgarten – A long-time collaborator of TorinoFilmLab, Marietta is a Swedish scriptwriter and script consultant, active in the fields of cinema and TV, but also art and theatre. She wrote the script for the feature film CALL GIRL, winner of the FIPRESCI Award in Toronto 2012. As a script consultant she has worked with many international organizations, among which Biennale College – Cinema and Binger Filmlab.
Eilon Ratzkovsky – A TorinoFilmLab Alumnus, Eilon is a renowned Israeli producer: his credits include THE BAND’S VISIT by Eran Kolirin (winner of more than 50 international prizes), ZERO MOTIVATION by Talya Lavie and his TFL-supported film MOUNTAIN by Yaelle Kayam (Venice, Orizzonti 2015). His company July August Productions specializes in innovative art-house feature films, as well as quality TV projects.
Franz Rodenkirchen – Involved in TorinoFilmLab since its inception, Franz is a Berlin-based, internationally working script consultant and tutor. Among others he regularly collaborates with the Script Station of Berlinale Talents, the dffb, CineLink Sarajevo and CPH:LAB. He runs the Script Circle, a periodic script development workshop in Berlin. In 18 years, he has consulted on many independent film projects from all over the world.
Producer consultant
Didar Domehri – Didar is a French producer, founder of Maneki Films and of the label Full House. She has been the Head of international sales at Films Distribution in 2001-2009. Her production and co-production credits include PAULINA by Santiago Mitre (Grand Prize, Cannes Critics’ Week 2015) and 7 DAYS IN HAVANA (Collective – Un Certain Regard 2012). In the training field, she is – amongst several activities – a group leader for EAVE.
Financing & Film Funds
Katriel Schory – Katriel studied at the NYU Film School. In 1973 he joined Kastel Films – at that time the leading production house in Israel – as Head of Productions. In 1983 he was the Associate Producer and Line Producer of the award-winning film BEYOND THE WALLS. In 1984 he formed Belfilms Ltd and produced over 200 films. In 1999 he accepted the position of Executive Director of the Israel Film Fund.
Post-Production
Niko Remus – Niko worked in film editing and is now a freelance post-production supervisor and consultant, mostly for international projects. His latest projects include HONEY by Semih Kaplanoglu, HANNAH ARENDT by Margarethe von Trotta, ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE by Jim Jarmusch, and A PIGEON SAT ON A BRANCH REFLECTING ON EXISTENCE by Roy Andersson. He also works as a content manager at the EP2C workshop.
Audience Engagement consultants
Riema Reybrouck – Riema is a TFL Audience Design Alumna. After working for various film festivals in Flanders, she developed a growing interest for promoting independent short and feature films internationally for Belgian production companies such as Caviar, Czar and De Wereldvrede. She is currently Press & Industry officer at Film Fest Gent, and helps develop and market films through her company Post Bills PR.
Joanna Solecka – A TFL Audience Design Alumna, Joanna has successfully promoted numerous films and handled two Academy Awards campaigns for Oscar nominees RABBIT A LA BERLIN and JOANNA. She is the Head of the Polish branch of film marketing agency Alphapanda, covering the Eastern European market. Before joining Alphapanda, she worked for 10 years as the Head of PR, Festivals & Sales at Wajda Studio & School in Warsaw.
Director of Photography
Marko Brdar – A Slovenian cinematographer, Marko majored in Philosophy in Ljubljana and in Film Cinematography at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. The films he lensed have been shown in numerous film festivals around the world and have won several recognitions. Amongst them THE HIGH SUN by Dalibor Matanić won the Jury Prize in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard 2015.
Sound Design
Peter Albrechtsen – A sound designer and music supervisor based in Copenhagen, Peter has worked on more than 100 productions domestically and internationally. Among his past works there is sound effects editing on both THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (2009) and Lars von Trier's ANTICHRIST (2009). His most recent credits include 3 TFL-supported films: MOUNTAIN, THE HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MÄKI, and GODLESS.
Acting Coach & Casting Director
Tatiana Vialle – A French casting director, actor’s coach and theatre director, since 1991 she has worked on more than 60 feature films as a casting director. Since 2007 she teaches at the actors workshop for the French programme Emergence. She is the President of the French casting director’s association ARDA. TFL-supported film THE WAKHAN FRONT by Clément Cogitore is among her credits.
Pitching trainer
Stefano Tealdi – Stefano is an Italian producer: he established Stefilm in 1985 where he develops, produces and directs documentary features and series, including CITIZEN BERLUSCONI, VINYLMANIA (IFFR 2012), CHAR, NO MAN’S ISLAND (Berlinale Forum 2013), THE QUEEN OF SILENCE (Best Doc at Krakow FF 2015). EAVE graduate and Documentary in Europe chairman, he tutors for EDN, Esodoc, Zelig Film School, etc.
FeatureLab – audience design
Valeria Richter, tutor – Valeria is a Danish creative producer, who collaborated with TorinoFilmLab since its foundation. In particular, she has been the co-head of studies for the Audience Design programme since 2011. She co-produced the feature film GRANNY’S DANCING ON THE TABLE by Hanna Sköld (New Directors, San Sebastián 2015), and the short films of the Nordic Factory realized in collaboration with the Directors’ Fortnight in 2014.
Lena Thiele, trainer – Lena is a Berlin-based Creative Director, and professor at the Cologne Film School, who designs and produces digital media formats in the fields of film, games and transmedia. In 2012 she joined Miiqo Studios, where she focuses on creating meaningful experiences through innovation in storytelling, technology and design. Her production NETWARS/OUT OF CTRL webseries received the SXSW Innovation Award.
