HUNTING SEASON by Natalia Garagiola at the 32nd Venice International Film Critics Week
The feature film debut of young Argentinian writer-director Natalia Garagiola, produced by the very dynamic company Rei Cine with several international partners from USA, France and Germany, is among the  7 titles selected to compete in the 32nd Venice International Film Critics Week. HUNTING SEASON was developed within two TorinoFilmLab programmes in 2013-2014 and supported by the lab with a production grant.

Jane Fonda & Robert Redford to receive Golden Lion lifetime achievement awards with OUR SOULS AT NIGHT by Ritesh Batra
Indian helmer Ritesh Batra directed OUR SOULS AT NIGHT, to be presented Out of Competition at the 74th Venice International Film Festival: the World Premiere screening of the film, produced by Netflix and starring Jane Fonda and Robert Redford, will follow the ceremony where the two American stars will be honoured with Golden Lion lifetime achievement awards. Based on the novel by Kent Haruf, the film will be distributed worldwide by Netflix in 2017. TorinoFilmLab supported Ritesh Batra in the development of his feature film debut THE LUNCHBOX, launched at Cannes Critics’ Week in 2013, which had an extraordinary festival and box office success all over the world.

Fien Troch in the Orizzonti Jury, Yorgos Zois in the Lion of the Future one
After having their TFL-supported films premiering in Orizzonti in the last years, two TorinoFilmLab Alumni have been invited by the Venice International Film Festival to be part of two of the four main Juries of the 74th edition of the “Mostra”.

Belgian helmer Fien Troch, who won Best Director in Orizzonti 2016 with her “TFL film” HOME, will serve as a member of the Jury in the same section where she competed last year.

Greek writer-director Yorgos Zois, whose TFL-supported debut feature INTERRUPTION premiered in Orizzonti in 2015, will be one of the Jurors for the “Luigi De Laurentiis” Venice Award for a Debut Film, also known as Lion of the Future.
