The Commission in charge of selecting the national candidate for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award has deliberated today in Rome that A CIAMBRA by Jonas Carpignano will be representing Italy, and has submitted the title to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
A CIAMBRA, developed at TorinoFilmLab in 2015, is centered around a small Romani community in the Southern Italian town of Gioia Tauro.
Co-produced among others by Martin Scorsese's new fund dedicated to emerging filmmakers, the second feature film of the Italian-American director premiered at Cannes Directors' Fortnight, where it won the Europa Cinemas Label award.
