TorinoFilmLab set to shine at Cannes Film Festival 2019!

With no less than 4 TFL Films selected in Un Certain Regard, La Quinzaine des Réalisateurs & La Semaine de la Critique, we are looking forward to a new edition of Cannes Film Festival (14-25 May 2019)!

We are proud to be represented by a number of TFL Projects and Alumni in various parallel initiatives.
As previously announced, 4 TFL Projects will participate in Cinéfondation – L’Atelier: THE SETTLERS by Felipe Gálvez (FeatureLab 2018), THE WOODCUTTER STORY by Mikko Myllylahti (FeatureLab 2018), RIFT IN THE ICE by Maja Miloš (FeatureLab 2018) and NEZOUH by Soudade Kaadan (Interchange 2013). PAMFIR by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk (ScriptLab 2016) is currently being developed at Cinéfondation – Résidence, while FeatureLab 2019 project CROCODILE TEARS by Tumpal Tampubolon has been selected at Institut Français’s La Fabrique Cinéma.
We are also glad to spot in Un Certain Regard TFL Alumnus Oliver Laxe (A SUN THAT NEVER SETS) as well as TFL Juror 2016 Monia Chokri (A BROTHER'S LOVE). Produced by TFL Alumnus Ayman El Amir, FAKH (THE TRAP) by Nada Riyadh is selected in Critics' Week. TAKE ME SOMEWHERE NICE, first feature film by ScriptLab 2019 participant Ena Sendijarević will be screened in L'ACID. TFL Alumni Nadia Trevisan and Rok Biček have been selected to join EFP’s Producers On the Move; while ScriptLab 2017 participant Teodora Ana Mihai will participate in Directors’ Fortnight SEE Factory.

Producers Network
Every morning, TFL Head of Industry Jane Williams will moderate the Producers Network Breakfast Meetings, an opportunity for the attendees to meet special guests and link up with co-producers, sales agents, festival representatives, and film funds.

Marché du Film - Doc Corner | Doc Meets
In the frame of Doc Corner, the Marché du Film section dedicated to documentary, Francesco Giai Via will attend Doc Meets as a TorinoFilmLab representative.

Young Nordic Producers Club
TFL Managing Director Mercedes Fernandez will attend the Young Nordic Producers Club, an annual 4-day networking and training programme addressed to the most promising young Nordic producers. Co-organised by Noemi Ferrer (Head of International at The Danish Film Institute) and Tina Wagner Sørensen (Head of Post Graduate Training at The National Film School of Denmark), the YNPC is supported by the Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

T-Port Panel Discussion | The Missing Link between Shorts and Features
Furthermore, Mercedes Fernandez will represent TorinoFilmLab at the panel “The Missing Link between Shorts and Features”, organized by T-Port in the frame of the Gesher Multicultural Film Fund’s Young Talents Day in Cannes.
