9 international film professionals will join forces to mentor the 11 teams selected for FeatureLab 2019, TorinoFilmLab’s training programme for first and second feature film projects.
The line-up of trainers for the first workshop – to be held in Bordeaux in June, in partnership with ALCA (Agence Livre Cinéma et Audiovisuel en Nouvelle-Aquitaine) – will consist of 5 men and 4 women. The programme is coordinated by Head of Studies Violeta Bava (Argentina).
The duo of Guest Directors is composed of Nanouk Leopold (Netherlands), whose films premiered at Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, IFFR, Berlinale and Toronto IFF, among others; and João Pedro Rodrigues (Portugal), winner of the Silver Leopard for Best Director at Locarno Film Festival 2016 with his latest film THE ORNITHOLOGIST.
Two women will share their wide experience in creative production: co-founder of Rouge International Nadia Turincev (France) and Marta Andreu (Spain), a specialist in documentary works.
As far as the writing process is concerned, three experienced script consultants will follow the participants: Marietta von Hausswolff von Baumgarten (Sweden), Miguel Machalski (Spain) and Franz Rodenkirchen (Germany).
Co-founder of the sale agent company Luxbox, Hédi Zardi (France), will also join the first workshop.
Award-winning Director of Photography Rui Poças (Portugal) – credited for FRANKIE by Ira Sachs, selected in Competition at Cannes 2019 – completes the line-up.
More names will be announced for the second and third workshops of FeatureLab.
