LARA won big at the 54th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

July 8, 2019

We are extremely happy to share that LARA – the 99th TFL Film – has won no less than 3 awards at the latest edition of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival: the sophomore film by Jan-Ole Gerster, written by Blaž Kutin, won the Special Jury Prize, the Best Actress Award (Corinna Harfouch) and the Ecumenical Jury Award.

The Ecumenical Jury stated: "a well-acted and intelligently directed film of a depressed mother's psychological humiliation of her composer-musician son. The interactions of mother and son dramatically and dynamically capture their alienation, and shows signs of movement toward a positive resolution".

LARA was developed in ScriptLab 2005 and is produced by Schiwago Film and STUDIOCANAL (Germany). Sales are handled by the Munich-based company Beta Cinema.

We would also like to congratulate TFL Alumnus Marko Škop, who was also honoured with the Ecumenical Jury Commendation and the Best Actor Award (Milan Ondrík) for his new feature LET THERE BE LIGHT.
