TorinoFilmLab announces a new partnership with Red Sea International Film Festival

We are excited to announce that the call for entries for the newly launched “Red Sea Lodge” programme, organized in collaboration with TorinoFilmLab, is now open!
The Red Sea Lodge is committed to a new wave in Arab cinema. Through a programme of training and mentorship the initiative equips this generation and the next with the skills and determination for their bold new approaches.
Supporting artistic and creative development, as well as production and promotion strategies, the intensive lab, with two final awards of $ 500,000, is open to talent from Saudi Arabia and the Arab world.
The comprehensive programme is designed for directors on their first or second feature, for producers and for scriptwriters if on board; more established names with truly daring new ideas and concepts will be also considered.
Every stage of filmmaking will be explored: script, direction, cinematography and sound, post-production, sales and audience engagement.
There will be 3 workshops held under the guidance of internationally experienced tutors.
The training and development process will culminate during the Red Sea International Film Festival (launched for the first time in March 2020), with all participants publicly presenting their projects to an audience of international producers, sales agents, and other film industry professionals.
Further insight will be granted through one-to-one meetings with Decision Makers, while major visibility will be gained thanks to the Red Sea Lodge Catalogue and network.
All final projects will be considered for two $ 500,000 production prizes, with the winning works enjoying its world premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2021.
