The new feature film by Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Fernández Almendras, supported with the TFL Audience Design Fund 2018, will have its world premiere at the 26th Valdivia International Film Festival (7-13 October 2019) in the section Gala/Muestra Cine Contemporáneo.
HRA (THE PLAY) is set in Czech Republic. Petr is a young theatre director whose world falls apart after he decides to realise his dream: to adapt an overly ambitious play based on Euripides’ classic Fedra. He starts a relationship with the lead actress, Karolina, putting at risk his marriage. Both women leave him; and the play is a fiasco. Petr will try to regain the last pieces left of his life, but it might be too little too late.
The film is an international co-production, led by Jirafa Films (Chile) and involving Arizona Productions (France) and Film & Roll (Czech Republic). HRA received the support of the Jeonju International Film Festival in the development phase. It was also awarded with the TFL Audience Design Fund 2018 (€ 40.000) to support his worldwide distribution.
The world premiere of HRA is scheduled for October 8th, 2019 at 8.15 pm.
