APPLICATIONS FOR AUDIENCE DESIGNERS 2012 ARE NOW CLOSED
16 projects – 6 months – 3 participants – 2 workshops
Script&Pitch presents the new call for applications aimed at European film and media professionals curious to gain further hands-on experience in working on audience awareness and engagement strategies for independent and art-house film projects at an early script development stage.
Why?
We have no doubt that early audience awareness and audience engagement is important; the roads towards reaching and communicating with possible audiences multiply and diversify rapidly these years and we need to explore them from every angle. What steps can we take to define, build and reach audiences, niche and wide, during the development and scriptwriting phases? Bringing Audience Designers on board during our script development workshop is a first crucial step. By participating in this workshop you can become a key part of forming this pioneering process, working directly with filmmakers and producers.
What?
We select only 3 participants, who will work with the 16 Script&Pitch projects that are currently being developed in the 2012 edition of the programme.
Our process begins in June and participants will work as a team under the guidance of a professional mentor, who will follow them through the development, planning and presentation process. The mentor will be announced during the Spring and will be someone with international experience.
Participants will analyze and work with the feature film projects, developing overall strategies and selecting up to 4 different cases that represent various approaches. Through these concrete examples the concept of audience design will be tested, discussed and defined. The team will of course meet the filmmakers, any producers attached, their script advisor and a story editor trainee. For the November Meeting Event each participant will have a profile page in our Book of Projects.
It is expected that participants read the project materials and prepare before coming to the 1st workshop and there will be a skype follow up before the 2nd workshop.
Who can apply?
This call is aimed at European professionals who have relevant, documented experience in exploring/designing how audiences engage with content. For example you may be working in film promotion, marketing, web/interactive design, game design, social media, strategy, or media planning.
Please note only professionals from EU and MEDIA-eligible countries can apply.

Brignogan (France): 24-30 June, 2012
Torino (Italy): 22-28 November, 2012
How to apply
3 EU or MEDIA-eligible participants will be selected to take part in Script&Pitch as Audience Designers.
The requested materials are:
- our application form;
- an updated CV;
- a motivation letter explaining why you would like to take part and what your experience offers the team

Participation fees
There is no course fee: TorinoFilmLab will provide accommodation and subsistence for participants for the whole duration of the 2 workshops.
Participants will only have to cover their travel expenses to and from the workshop locations (Brignogan/via Paris, France and Torino, Italy).
