Meeting Event

TorinoFilmLab Meeting Event 2016

The TFL Meeting Event takes place every year in parallel with the Torino Film Festival: this year’s edition of the Meeting Event will happen on 22-25 November at Scuola Holden, while the 34th Torino Film Festival will take place on 18-26 November 2016.

It is the annual showcase of the projects, talents and films developed at TorinoFilmLab, featuring a global co-production market for independent original or adapted feature films (with a focus on emerging directors), a presentation of the professionals trained within the scheme, and a work-in-progress event dedicated to upcoming TFL-supported films. Last but not least, it is a moment to reward the best projects with awards & production grants.

For the second year, the TFL Meeting Event includes A Taste of TFL and TFL Coming Soon initiatives, integrating its rich offer for the industry.

A Taste of TFL gives our TFL-trained professionals the opportunity to be discovered by Decision Makers during an exclusive dinner event.

TFL Coming Soon is the work-in-progress showcase of TFL-supported films. The event features the presentations and screenings of excerpts of TFL-supported films that are currently in their final stages of completion and will be launched in 2017.

Industry target
Decision Makers from all over the world in the fields of production, sales, distribution, public funds: producers, sales agents, distributors, buyers, financers, investors, funds & festival representatives from all over the world.

The TFL Meeting Event 2016 will feature:
28 film projects
18 film talents
9 films in progress

A variety of Awards
TFL Awards
The TFL international Jury assigns a number of Production and Co-production Awards – among which some supported by Creative Europe – to projects coming from the FrameWork programme. Moreover, the invited Decision Makers will vote to assign the Audience Award, also to a project from FrameWork.

The TFL Audience Design Fund, launched in 2014 and connected to the Audience Design programme, grants prizes aimed at supporting the implementation of innovative audience engagement strategies at the moment of the release of the awarded films.

TFL screenings at Torino Film Festival
Every year the Torino Film Festival dedicates a section to the films supported by TorinoFilmLab that had their world premieres in the last 12 months. The full screenings programme will be available in November.
