21-23 November 2019
The TFL Meeting Event is the annual showcase of the projects, talents and films developed at TorinoFilmLab, featuring a global co-production forum for independent original or adapted feature films (with a focus on emerging directors), a presentation of the professionals trained within the scheme. It is also a moment to reward the best projects with awards & production grants, the TFL Production and TFL Co-Production Awards, as well as collateral prizes.
A Keynote Opening Event entitled “We Need to Talk About…” will inaugurate the co-production forum. Aiming at questioning existing practices in the film industry, this new element will be composed of a keynote session followed by an open discussion with key player of the industry. This first edition will focus on our responsibility, as individuals, companies and organisations, to take concrete action through our working practices. More information here.
The event will be completed with a focus on distribution: a special presentation of upcoming TFL Films to a selected audience of film distributors and festival representatives during the TFL Coming Soon work-in-progress showcase and a Case Study on Audience Design, presenting some insight on the distribution of TEL AVIV ON FIRE by Sameh Zoabi.
37 Torino Film Festival
The TFL Meeting Event takes place every year in parallel with the Torino Film Festival. The 37th edition will take place on 22-30 November 2019. Every year, the TFF presents a selection of films supported by TorinoFilmLab that had their world premieres in the last 12 months, within the section Festa Mobile/TorinoFilmLab.

Funds for international co-productions
Launched in 2014, the TFL Audience Design Fund consists of 3 distribution grants aimed at supporting the implementation of innovative audience engagement strategies at the moment of the release of the awarded films.
For the first time in 2019, TorinoFilmLab will grant a production grant through the TFL World Co-Production Fund, to encourage experienced filmmakers.
The World Co-Production Fund Jury is composed of Ed Guiney (Element Pictures – Ireland), Paz Lázaro (Berlinale – Germany) and Carole Scotta (Haut et Court – France).
The TFL Audience Design and the TFL World Co-Production Funds have been created thanks to Creative Europe – MEDIA sub-programme support to International Co-Production Funds.
