About TFL Up & Coming Italia

TFL Up & Coming Italia is an initiative dedicated to Italian cinema, addressed to emerging producers taking their first steps into international co-production.

A group of 4 emerging producers together with the directors of their projects will be the protagonists of an exclusive plan of activities that will take place during Torino Film Industry, from the 27th to 29th of November 2021. They will receive dedicated guidance complemented by a range of activities to enhance their visibility and help them to strengthen their connections with the industry.

Torino Film Industry (TFI) encompasses the Torino Short Film Market, organized by Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio, the masterclasses and events organized by the TorinoFilmLab, as well as the Production Days events, organized by Film Commission Torino Piemonte: a selection of pitching sessions, 1:1 meetings, panels and workshops to be held partly online and partly in presence.

The aim of TFL Up & Coming Italia is to provide a new generation of Italian producers with tools and guidance to work internationally. The selected participants will be offered a special "welcome package" through dedicated sessions of meetings with experts and mentors, which aims at putting them in contact with potential partners, expanding their industry network and, at the same time, enhancing their knowledge and experience in co-productions, markets and international financing. This tailor-made plan of activities will include a series of masterclasses and case studies on the following themes: international co-production; European co-production markets and forums; European funding and tax incentives; worldwide sales. These topics will be presented and analysed by highly qualified European and international professionals who regularly collaborate in TFL training programmes.

After these first dedicated training sessions, the producers of TFL Up & Coming Italia will also be the protagonists of a presentation and networking event organized in collaboration with TFI – Torino Film Industry, which will bring together high-profile Italian and international guests.

TFL Up & Coming Italia is a TorinoFilmLab initiative promoted in collaboration with AGICI – Associazione Generale Industrie Cine-Audiovisive Indipendenti, ANICA – Associazione Nazionale Industrie Cinematografiche Audiovisive Multimediali, Centro Nazionale del CortometraggioFilm Commission Torino PiemonteFondo Audiovisivo FVG – Friuli Venezia Giulia, Milano Film Network and Torino Short Film Market.
