TorinoFilmLab unveils TFL Coming Soon line-up & announces massive sales agents/festivals presence at TFL Meeting Event

October 13, 2016

The TFL Meeting Event 2016 will feature the second edition of the TFL Coming Soon work-in-progress showcase, whose kick-off last year offered its guests previews of titles that went on to become festival favourites like Juho Kuosmanen’s THE HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MÄKI, Oliver Laxe’s MIMOSAS, Bogdan Mirica’s DOGS, Fernando Guzzoni’s JESÚS, Christopher Murray’s EL CRISTO CIEGO, Fien Troch’s HOME and Tobias Nölle’s ALOYS.

The event is dedicated to presenting films developed within TorinoFilmLab’s programmes that are in their final completion stages to a selected industry audience of sales agents and festival representatives.

The titles will include Laura Schroeder’s all-female family drama BARRAGE, starring Isabelle Huppert and Lolita Chammah, IFFR 2016 Tiger Award winner Babak Jalali’s LAND, a modern Western set in a Native American reservation and shot in Mexico, as well as CARGO, the debut feature of Flemish cinema’s enfant terrible Gilles Coulier, a troubled tale of three brothers trying to save their family's fishing business on the cold shores of the North Sea.

The 7 films to be presented at TFL Coming Soon 2016 are:

- BARRAGE by Laura Schroeder (Luxembourg/Belgium/France)
- BEAST by Michael Pearce (United Kingdom) - DEBUT
- CARGO by Gilles Coulier (Belgium/Netherlands/France) - DEBUT
- LA HOLANDESA by Marleen Jonkman (Netherlands/Germany) - DEBUT
- LAND by Babak Jalali (Italy/France/Netherlands/Mexico)

We are pleased to announce that the TFL Meeting Event 2016 will host the largest delegation of sales agents in the lab’s history, with more than 30 companies in attendance. The list of confirmed professionals comprises returning guests such as The Match Factory, Memento, Luxbox, Alpha Violet, Visit Films and Films Boutique and companies attending the TFL Meeting Event for the very first time, including Kinology, WestEnd, Indie Sales, Protagonist, Celluloid Dreams, M-Appeal, Latido and Versatile. Italian sales agents will be represented by Fandango, Intramovies, and True Colours.
