2 TFL-supported films take one step closer toward the Foreign Language Film Oscar!

December 15, 2017

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has unveiled the 9 shortlisted films advancing to the next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category: we are extremely honoured to announce that 2 of these films, both coming from the African continent, have been supported by TorinoFilmLab!

FÉLICITÉ by Alain Gomis is the first candidate ever for Senegal. Supported with the TFL Audience Design Fund 2016, it scored the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize in Competition, also at Berlinale 2017.

The Academy received this year a record number of 92 submissions, 6 of which were TFL-supported films. The final five Oscar nominations in the race will be revealed alongside all other Oscar nominations on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
