3 TFL-supported projects awarded by the World Cinema Fund!

We are thrilled to announce that 3 projects developed at TorinoFilmLab have received production and distribution support from the World Cinema Fund!

The WCF, backed by the Berlinale decided to award TFL Projects TASTE and FEATHERS OF A FATHER, as well as TFL Film LAS HEREDERAS during its 28th Jury session.

TASTE by Le Bao received the Production Funding WCF for an amount of € 30.000. This debut feature was developed within FeatureLab 2017, and it won a TFL Co-Production Award (€ 50.000) and the ARTE International Prize (€ 6.000) during the last TFL Meeting Event. TASTE is the result of a co-production between E&W Films (Singapore) and Le Bien Pictures (Vietnam).

FEATHERS OF A FATHER by Omar El Zohairy received the WCF Europe for an amount of € 40.000. Produced by Still Moving (France), in co-production with New Century (Egypt), Omar’s first feature was developed within Script&Pitch 2016 and FeatureLab 2017, and it was awarded the Post-Production Award by TFL partner APostLab (former EP2C). FEATHERS OF A FATHER also received the Nederland Filmfonds + Hubert Bals Fund Co-Production Scheme (€ 50.000).

LAS HEREDERAS (THE HEIRESSES) by Marcelo Martinessi was awarded with the Distribution Funding (€ 10.000) to support its release in German cinemas. The film successfully premiered at Berlinale 2018, where it won the Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize, the Silver Bear for Best Actress (Ana Brun), as well as the FIPRESCI Prize, and is expected to reach the German screens on November 29, 2018.

LAS HEREDERAS was developed within Script&Pitch 2014 and FrameWork 2015, and it was also financially supported by TorinoFilmLab through the first TFL Co-Production Award (€ 50.000). The film is a La Babosa Cine (PY) production, in co-production with Pandora Film (DE), Mutante Cine (UY), Esquina Filmes (BR), La Fábrica Nocturna (FR) and Norskfilmprodukjson (NO)
