HIS MASTER’S VOICE premieres in Competition at Tokyo IFF!

September 25, 2018

TFL-supported film HIS MASTER’S VOICE by György Pálfi will have its world premiere at the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival (25 October – 3 November 2018)!

Based on Stanisław Lem’s best-selling novel and co-written by Zsófia Ruttkay and Gergő Nagy, Pálfi’s new feature film tells the story of the middle-aged Peter, who recognizes his father in a documentary about a mysterious accident and decides to embark on a trip to America to find him. In the midst of searching for his father, who disappeared when he was a child, Peter uncovers a massive conspiracy in the U.S.

HIS MASTER’S VOICE (formerly known as THE VOICE) was developed within Script&Pitch 2014 and was one of the 9 films to be introduced in 2017 at the annual work-in-progress showcase TFL Coming Soon. The film is the result of a co-production between KMH Film (Hungary) and Quiet Revolution Pictures (Canada).

Furthermore, we are glad to share that TFL film TEL AVIV ON FIRE by Sameh Zoabi (LU/FR/IL/BE) will have its Asian premiere in Competition, vying for the Tokyo Grand Prix together with HIS MASTER’S VOICE!

The film was supported by TorinoFilmLab through the TFL Audience Design Fund 2018 (€ 40.000), and it had its world premiere in the Orizzonti section at Venice Film Festival 2018, where it was awarded Best Actor (Kais Nashif) and won the Interfilm Award for Promoting Interreligious Dialogue.
