TFL Meeting Event 2018: ScriptLab projects to vie for CNC Award & new Hamilton Behind The Camera Award!

October 19, 2018

As the TFL Meeting Event 2018 is approaching, we are excited to announce the awards that will be kindly offered by TorinoFilmLab's partners to some of the 20 ScriptLab projects of this year.

First of all, we are delighted that prestigious CNC - Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée has renewed its support and will award for the second time a grant of € 8.000 for the development of a feature film script, supporting one of the talented scriptwriters/directors from the programme in their further work after the participation in TorinoFilmLab.

An international Jury, comprising Ali Khechen from the Doha Film Institute (Qatar), Catia Rossi from international sales outfit True Colours Glorious Films (Italy), and Anna Wydra from production company Otter Films (Poland), will assign the CNC Award after having listened to the pitches and having met with the projects on November 23rd-24th.

As an incubator of new talents, TorinoFilmLab’s natural mission is to mentor emerging voices that will become the masters of tomorrow’s cinema. We are glad to announce that Swiss watchmaker Hamilton has decided to partner with TFL and to support our vision by assigning a new prize aimed at a ScriptLab project: the Hamilton Behind The Camera Award – Talent for the Future.

The Hamilton Behind The Camera Award – Talent for the Future will consist of a cash prize of € 5.000 for the further development of the project’s script, as well as a Hamilton watch for the director.

Hamilton has a long history of pioneering innovations and a strong connection with film – being also known as “the Movie Brand” – and through the Behind The Camera Awards it aims at nurturing a new generation of filmmakers. We are delighted that they chose to work side by side with TorinoFilmLab and go to the roots of film creation to accompany an early stage project from ScriptLab in its journey from paper to screen.

Moreover, we are glad to share that the ScriptLab projects are also eligible for the Digital Production Challenge II Award, launched in 2014 and granted by FOCAL resource, which will consist in the participation in the DPC II Workshop.
