World premiere of FeatureLab project AND THEY MAY STILL BE ALIVE TODAY at the Transilvania International Film Festival!

July 10, 2020

We are delighted to share that the film AND THEY MAY STILL BE ALIVE TODAY by Tudor Cristian Jurgiu and produced by Bogdan Craciun will have its world premiere during the Romanian Days at the Transilvania International Film Festival. The project participated in FeatureLab 2016 which at the time was called FrameWork. Since its participation in the TFL programme, the film was showcased during the TFL Coming Soon in 2018 and was later selected in the First Cut+ programme at Trieste Film Festival 2020.

The film follows Clara, who, tired of waiting for love, decides to make it happen herself. Passive and kind, Vlad is the perfect partner. Her project? To live the perfect love. Her inspiration? Books, films and folklore. On their first date they plan their perfect love like a project with clear checkpoints. For a while they are happy. But he hates being alone more than he loves her. This makes her fearful and anxious, and probing his love with little games. He tries to be patient and console her but finally breaks into anger. In desperation she goes swimming far into the sea to test him. He barely manages to save her from drowning. He decides to break up but before, they go to the countryside and play a game becoming fantastic characters from a Romanian fairytale. Fantasy takes over and they will emerge from it more mature.

The film is the sophomore film of Jurgiu, whose debut feature, THE JAPANESE DOG (2013) won the Competition 1-2 Award at Warsaw International Film Festival and represented Romania at the Oscars.

AND THEY MAY STILL BE ALIVE TODAY is produced by Libra Film Productions (Romania).

The Transilvania International Film Festival will take place from the 31st of July – 9th of August in Cluj-Napoca (Romania).

Congratulations to the whole film team!
