Vincenzo Bugno was born in Venice and lives in Berlin. He graduated in Literature, History of Arts and Cinema. As a journalist and film critic, he has contributed to newspapers and magazines, including “Corriere della Sera”, “Manifesto” and “Ciak”. He has worked as a journalist, author and director for TV-channels like “Arte”, ZDF, “Tele+” and “Sky Italy”, for whom he shot many reportages and documentaries on film, among other cultural topics.

Vincenzo Bugno has worked as an advisor and curator for many international film festivals.

2006-2009 also member of the programming committee of the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland and head of the Locarno-section Open Doors.

He is one the initiators and project-manager of the Berlinale / World Cinema Fund, which has been created (2004) to support film production in developing countries and regions with lack a constructive film industry.

He is also the Berlinale-Festival Delegate for Italy and the Magreb & Mashrek countries.
