biography

Born in 1977 in Montevideo, Uruguay. In 2000, she was granted a bachelor's degree on Communication Studies by the Universidad Católica of Uruguay, and, in 2003, a master's degree on Documentary Filmmaking by the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona. She has been a producer of feature films, music videos, documentaries, corporate videos, short films and commercials in Mexico, Barcelona and Uruguay since 1998.

La discípula del velocímetro marked her debut as an executive producer, Mexico's Miguel Calderón's In 2004 she starts working in ControlZ as Production Manager in Manolo Nieto's La Perrera as well as in other short films produced by Control Z Films. Since 2007 she has been an executive producer and partner at Control Z Films in which she produced the feature films Gigante by Adrián Biniez, Hiroshima and 3, by Pablo Stoll, and Tanta Agua, by Ana Guevara and Leticia Jorge.

In 2011 she set up the film production company Mutante Cine with Fernando Epstein, they produce and distribute El 5 (Venice Days) y The Waves (San Sebastián) from Adrián Biniez, the documentary Madness on air (Festival de cine de Málaga) from Alicia Cano and Leticia Cuba. They coproduce History of fear (Berlinale oficial competition) from Benjamin Nahistat, My friend of the park (Sundance) from Ana Katz, Benzinho (Sundance) from Gustavo Pizzi and The Herrisseses (Berlinale offical comptetiton) from Marcelo Martinessi. The fatures films Alelí from Leticia Jorge and Monos from Alejandro Landes that are currently in postproduction.

They are co-organizers with EAVE International of PUENTES training Workshop project that takes place every year in Montevideo.

She chaired Channel 10's National Production Department's committee for receiving and developing new projects. As well as a teacher, tutor, counselor, mentor and advisor in training level in Biennale College, Br Lab, Biobio lab. And has been a judge in competitions development and competition of projects in international festivals such as San Sebastian, BAFICI, Miami, Locarno and Cartagena and national funds as CORFO and CNTV in Chile, Proimágenes in Colombia, Qatar Doha Film Institute among others.

Mutante Cine is a film production company, created in 2011 by Agustina Chiarino and Fernando Epstein. Over the past decade, at Control Z Films they have produced and distributed several films and short films, including 25 Watts, Whisky, La Perrera, Acné, Gigante, Hiroshima, 3 and Tanta Agua.

Mutante Cine is committed to continue producing films and, at the same time, open to new horizons, maintaining the emphasis in the discovery of new talents and the exploration of different areas inside the film production and audiovisual training.

Since 2012 they co-organize with EAVE the workshop PUENTES, focused on training producers with projects in development stage coming from Europe and Latin America.
