Born in 1967, Christian Davi is today developper, producer and co-owner of Hugofilm Productions and Zentralton. He‘s living in Zurich with his wife and his daughter.

After his academic studies of environment and natural sciences at ETH Zurich with two diplomas, he worked as first assistant director at the theatre of Lucerne before making his master-studies at the filmschool DAVI in Lausanne (Master in 1996).
With his first feature documentary „Die Regierung“ (The Government) he won the Swiss film Price in 1999 and the Zurich Film Price in 1998. This succes announced the end ohis filmmakers activity and the beginning of his career as producer.

Christian Davi worked as a member of the national film board, as teacher for the filmschools in Lausanne, Zurich and Lucerne and as chairman of GARP and later of IG independent producer‘s association. He did Eurodoc with the feature documentary “Tinguel y” and several other specific formations.
As producer for Hugofilm, he was during the last twelve years in charge of around twenty feature documentaries and fictions for cinema and television.

Hugofilm was founded in 1999 by a group of filmmakers, musicians, and artists, as a studio for creative interaction to improve their working situation and to collaborate. In 2002, a part of the bunch founded Hugofilm Productions and started producing other authors and directors. Hugofilm was nominated and also winner of several prices in Switzerland and abroad.
Their first feature film VITUS by Fredi Murer was shortlisted for the 2007 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Since then, Hugofilm has produced a variety of feature films including PEPPERMINTA by video artist Pipilotti Rist (Venice Film Festival, Sundance); the documentary HARRY DEAN STANTON PARTLY FICTION by Sophie Huber (Venice Film Festival, SXSW).
Currently Hugofilm is working on various projects, including Tobias Noelle‘s WE ARE DEAD and the TV-dramaseries PRIVATE BANKING by Bettina Oberli, Thomas Ritter and David
Sandreuter. Their latest production CHRIEG (AT WAR) by
Simon Jaquemet recently celebrated its world premier at the
2014 San Sebastian Film Festival and is nominated for 5
awards at the Swiss Film Awards.
