Born in 1969, Britta grew up in Frankfurt and London. She studied filmmaking at NYU film school and LFS, London where she graduated with a distinction in scriptwriting. She moved to Berlin in 1995 and worked as a writer/director/editor.

Her short film Fünf Minuten won several festival awards and was screened as the official supporting short film of  Run, Lola, Run across German cinemas. She wrote and directed Family Dog (2001), a television comedy and returned to the short format by directing commercials. In 2007 she worked as an acting coach along side Shirin Neshat on Women without Men (Silver Lion/Best director Venezia 2009).

Since 2010 Britta has worked as a script consultant with several writer/directors.
