Verona Meier is a film producer who works both for Ape&Bjørn in Norway as well as in Germany. She graduated in film production at the University of Television and Film in Munich, studied at NYU`s Tisch School in New York and explored the film industry in Hong Kong before working for Berlin based Razor Film. She has been involved in more than 15 feature films, most of them international co-productions. Prominent among the projects she has been part of are the banned Kenyan film “Rafiki“ by Wanuri Kahiu (Cannes 2018), the first film from Saudi-Arabia “Wadjda” by Haifaa Al-Mansour (Venice 2012), “The Future” by Miranda July (Berlinale, Sundance 2011) and Golden Globe winner “Waltz with Bashir” by Ari Folman (Cannes 2008, Oscar Nominee 2009).
Verona is also part of the EAVE network.

Ape&Bjørn was founded in 2008 in Oslo by producer Ruben Thorkildsen and director Martin Lund. The company ambition is to produce director-driven content and build lasting relationships with original voices of a new generation of filmmakers.
Ape&Bjørn released its first feature “The Almost Man“ by Martin Lund in 2012 (Karlovy Vary Crystal Globe for Best Film and Best Male Actor). Martin Lund’s TVseries “The Games“ won best fiction series at Prix Jeunesse International 2014 and got
nominated for a Kidscreen Award in 2015. It is sold to more then 40 countries and has been remade in Canada and South Korea. Ape&Bjørn’s recent co-productions “I Remember You” by Icelandic Oskar Axelsson’s was successfully released in Island in 2017 and “Wajib” by Annemarie Jacir from Palestine
premiered in competition in Locarno 2017 and was the Palestinian candidate to the Oscars. 2019 premiered the TV-series “Match” by Martin Lund at NRK and reached the top 5 in
Norway. The co-production “Rafiki” by Wanuri Kahiu from Kenya (Cannes UCR), the short „Apollo“ by Palm d’Or winning director Bobbie Peers (Toronto) and the feature “Lake Over Fire” by debut director Joern Utkilen (Munich) all celebrated their premieres in 2018.
Ape&Bjørn’s film premieres of 2019 were Martin Lund’s new feature film „Psychobitch“ (major domestic hit) and “The Sunlit Night” by David Wnendt (Sundance).
