Arnaud Benoliel is a french screenwriter and director. He studied Cinema at the Paris-I University Panthéon-Sorbonne and was a student at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts of Marseille. He then attended the professional trainings of the Louis Lumière Film School, the Conservatoire Européen d’Ecriture Audiovisuelle and Script Lab at the TorinoFilmLab.

Arnaud first worked as an actor. In the early 2000’s he was cast in leading roles in plays such as Musset’s "On ne badine pas avec l’amour" or Ionesco’s "Macbett", and has toured theatres in France, including the Théâtre de La Criée. During this time, he also worked as a photographer and his work has been published and exhibited.

As a director, all of Arnaud’s short films have had a successful run on the international festival circuit and have been broadcasted several times on national TV France 3.

"Soir Bleu", a short drama starring Julien Baumgartner was showcased at La Semaine de la Critique during the Cannes Film Festival in 2007.

In 2012, "A Mi-chemin", starring Laurent Lucas, was selected by the Melbourne International Film Festival and the Montreal World Film Festival among other festivals. The film was later presented at the Cinémathèque Française.

"Cais", a music video Arnaud directed for american singer-songwriter Mia Doi Todd has won the award for Best Music Video at the Oregon Independent Film Festival in Portland (2015).

He is now developing "Citadelle" his first feature film as a director.

As a screenwriter, Arnaud is currently developing two TV series : "Scintillations", a 8x52’ mystery thriller and "The Pretender", an hour-long historical drama co-written with Michael Kinirons.

Since 2014, he also teaches screenwriting and mise en scène at Paris 8 University.
