Dora Amorim was born in Recife (Brazil).

She is a partner in Ponte Produções and film producer since 2010. Currently, she is the Production Director of the Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife - one of the most prestigious film festivals in Brazil. She also collaborates with Emilie Lesclaux and Kleber Mendonça Filho in the production company Cinemascópio and worked as the executive producer of AQUARIUS (in competition at the 2016 Cannes Official Selection), directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho.

Ponte Produções was created by Dora Amorim and Thaís Vidal, in 2015, to produce the work of young Brazilian filmmakers such as Nathalia Tereza, Milena Times, Fellipe Fernandes, André Antonio, Fábio Leal, Rodrigo Almeida and Quentin Delaroche. Some of the company's films have already been screened in the most important Brazilian festivals (Brasília FF, Rio IFF) and international festivals (Critics' Week, Chicago IFF, Cinélatino, Winterthur IFF). The company’s first feature film, A SEITA (THE CULT), by André Antonio, had its world premiere in Rio IFF and its European premiere at the Göteborg IFF. In 2017, Ponte Produções finished its second feature film, CAMOCIM, directed by Quentin Delaroche, and is currently working on different productions and developing projects by other directors.
