Nayra studied Film Director and later specialized herself as a scriptwriter at the EICTV - International school of film and TV, Cuba.

Her debut feature "Square Meter", which was written, directed and co-produced by herself, won Work in Progress at Valdivia Int' Film Festival 2009, a Special Mention at Santiago Int' Film Festival and world premiered at Palm Spring Int' Film Festival in New Voices New Visions, having an excellent review in Variety. She's developping as a writer and producer "Another Lake", the second feature film of Francisca Silva as a director and writer. With "Another Lake", she participated in different workshops during the development of the project. It was selected at Fem Cine for the Lucía Puenzo workshop, won a Special Mention in Bolivia Lab 2015, with the Cochabamba prize and script consultation by Natalia Smirnoff. It won the Mercosur fellowship from the Raymundo Gleyzer Contest (INCAA, Ushuaia, Argentina, 2015). It won Santiago Lab at SANFIC 2015, receiving the participation prize at the Co-production Meeting in Guadalajara 2016. In that market, it won the NALIP attendance prize in 2018. In 2017 "Another Lake" was selected at Brlab, where it won the prizes TorinoFilmLab TFL Up&Coming, Tribeca and CQS Laeyers consultancy.

Nayra founded Trébol film, a Santiago-based young production company, focused on strengthening the gaze and artistic principles of its filmmakers. Currently she is developing "Another Lake" by Francisca Silva and her own second feature film "Basics of Astronomy".
