During the last 15 years, Frida Kempff has filmed and produced a large number of TV productions, documentaries, and short films. She has exhibited and won prizes at several of the world’s largest film festivals, among them Cannes, London, Telluride, IDFA, Hot Docs, Palm Springs, Gothenburg, and Stockholm. Frida studied at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts, and in 2010 she was the first Swede since 1957 to win an award for a short film in the main competition at Cannes. In 2015, her feature-length documentary "Vinterboj" (Winter Buoy) premiered in cinemas across the globe. Frida’s vision is deeply visual, and she is keenly interested in human relations and our methods for managing our past and dreams.

Momento Film was founded in 2011 by David Herdies and has today established itself as one of the most vibrant independent documentary production companies in Sweden, producing numerous short and feature documentaries and establishing strong networks internationally.

With more than 20 films already produced and premiered in some of the most important international film festivals (CANNES, ROTTERDAM, IDFA, HOT DOCS, CPH:DOX, GIFF etc), Momento Film has successfully moved into fiction film production with Madre premiering in the Official Short film competition in Cannes 2016.

Since the start, the focus has been to find the most interesting new voices who want push the borders of film-making which means that the company is working with a lot of international directors. Currently, Momento Film is working on a slate of fiction and documentary projects among which the following can be mentioned: Amparo by Palme D’Or awarded director Simón Mesa Soto, Madame Luna by Binyam Berhane and written by award winning writer Suha Arraf and The Swedish Torpedo by Frida Kempff.
