Carlo D'Ursi

Decision Maker 2019

I am a feature film and moving images creative producer, with more than fifteen years experience in the field. In 2004 I started up Potenza Producciones in Spain as well as its Italian subsidiary Carlo D’Ursi Produzioni, producing films that have been selected in A-category film festivals such as Venice or Cannes, and that have been acquired by OTT platforms, broadcasters & pay tv operators such as NETLFIX (Original), ARTE, SUNDANCE CHANNEL, MOVISTAR+, TVE, RTP or VIACOM NETWORKS. My productions have been distributed by Latido Films, Global Screen, Warner, to mention a few. I am strongly oriented to creative development, talent spot and new ways of surfing the audio-visual market, with a clear and deep knowledge of the film production business, co-productions & financing schemes, especially in Europe & Latam. In 2017 I was selected by the EFP (European Film Promotion) to participate in the PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE, as the official representative of Spain in the Cannes Film Festival.
I am an elected member of the board of producers of the Spanish Film Academy and one of the founders of the Spanish Association of Film Directors.
In all my projects my quest and goals is to achieve the most suitable balance between quality and sustainable business success.

In 2015, Potenza created a new technology based distribution service called Veobeo, a theatrical on demand Distribution Company, in order to cross-collaterise and increase the productions exploitation potential.
In 2018 Potenza released its first Netflix Original production BOSS.
Nevertheless, the core business of the company is based on art-house and festival oriented movies, as proof by the last coproduction that Potenza shot in November ERRE11 with Minerva Pictures (IT), and the experimental length feature "Portrait of a white woman with grey hairs and wrinkles" now in post production.
