biography

Helen Olive is a Cambridge graduate who has worked in the film industry for over 15 years. As Assistant Producer she has worked on films by some of the world’s top directors including Ridley Scott and Joel and Ethan Coen with important producers and financiers in Europe and the US. She was notably production coordinator for the portmanteau film PARIS, JE T'AIME shot by more than 20 directors with 40 international stars. In 2008 she joined Eurowide Film Production as Executive Producer in charge of French and International productions and oversaw films including, RICKY by François Ozon, COCO CHANEL & IGOR STRAVINSKY by Jan Kounen, the French side of the co-production PINA by Wim Wenders, ATTILA MARCEL by Sylvain Chomet and FOUJITA by Kohei Oguri. In 2015 she founded 5à7 Films with Martin Bertier. Their first feature, LOS CONDUCTOS, won the prize for best first feature at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2020. She has also produced award wining shorts including TOTEMS by Sarah Arnold winner of the Golden Pardino at the Locarno IFF 2014 and THE QUARTET (Jury Prize Torino IFF 2010) .

5 à 7 Films was founded in 2015 by Martin Bertier and Helen Olive who share a passion for inspiring auteur-driven films, varied in their content and form, that explore humanity, the world and art.
2020 saw the premier of LOS CONDUCTOS, by Camilo Restrepo, at the Berlin IFF 2020 where it won GWFF BEST FIRST FEATURE AWARD and TENDER by Isabel Pagliai, a mid-length documentary that premiered in competition in Rotterdam IFF 2020.
Our current development line up includes CORSICAN SUMMER by Pascal Tagnati to be released in France by KMBO, the documentary MICHELLE REMEMBERS by Pia Borg selected at TORINO FEATURELAB 2020, Isabel Pagliai’s documentary WE HAVE NOTHING TO ENVY THE REST OF THE WORLD, to be shot in North Korea, and Sarah Arnold’s film noir WILD ENCOUNTERS, selected at the Torino Script Lab 2019 where it won the WHITE MIRROR PRIZE.
Previous productions include LA BOUCHE by Camilo Restrepo (Director’s Fortnight, Cannes 2017) and PARADES by Sarah Arnold (Locarno Film Festival 2017).
