biography

Philippa Tsang is Head of Production and Development UK for DCM, a German production and distribution company building their English language slate across both film and television. Prior to that, she was Production and Development Executive for Film4 and her credits include Beast, Fighting with My Family and Old Boys. She was previously an Acquisitions Executive at Hanway Films and worked in development at Brilliant Films, a production company based within Independent Talent Group.

company profile

DCM was founded in 2008 by Dario Suter, Christoph Daniel and Marc Schmidheiny and started off as a film production company. The partners were joined by Joel Brandeis in 2010 and the trio became the Swiss quartet that DCM is today.

After their own first feature film, DCM decided to gain a foothold in the film distribution business. This they achieved in 2011 with the successful restructure and takeover of Delphi Filmverleih, a long-established, Berlin-based film distribution company. In addition to their own productions, DCM also brings national and international films to German cinemas. These have included: Moonlight, I, Tonya, The Old Man and The Gun, Carol, Seven Psychopaths, Quartet, Kon-Tiki and The Artist.

As of 2013, and under the management of Stephanie Candinas, DCM has now extended its distribution business to Switzerland.

With its unusual combination of three different business areas – film production, film distribution and investor – DCM has made a name for itself in the Berlin startup scene and film world.
