Shira Hochman is a producer, film editor and editor consultant.
She has until now produced several short films: WHITE EYE by Tomer Shushan (Best Narrative Short Award: SXSW 2020, Galway FF 2020), the experimental film HORST by Miki Polonski (DocAviv 2020: Honorary mention) and MY LITTLE EVIE by Hadar Morag, currently in post-production.
At the moment she is developing two feature films: TAKOTSUBO by Miki Polonski (Cannes Cinéfondation Residence 2020, TFL 2019, Talent Village of Les Arcs FF - BNP Paribas Prize 2018, Crossroads Co-production Forum, 2020), which is in an advanced development and financing stage and Tomer Shushan’s first feature film, BETWEEN THE SAND GRAINS, which is in development.

As an editor, Shira worked on a large number of short and feature films which have premiered internationally and won awards worldwide. In 2014 she was nominated for the Best Editing Award at the Israeli Academy Awards. Among the films she edited are: NEXT TO HER (Cannes, 2014) by Asaf Korman, GALIS 2-CONNECT (2016), the documentary THE LAST LESSON by Dani Wasserman, the short films –SHMAMA (Pardino d'argento Award, Locarno, 2017) by Miki Polonski, and TEN BUILDINGS AWAY (Cinéfondation, Cannes, 2015) by Miki Polonski. Currently she is working with the Haymann brothers on a full-length documentary about the sculptor Dani Karavan.

Shira is also specializing as an editor consultant. Part of the films for which she was a consultant are: AFRICA (Toronto IFF 2019), GABRIEL (Cannes Court Métrage 2018) both by Oren Gerner, THE HOUSE ON FIN STREET (in editing) by Amir Manor.

In 2018 Shira Hochman founded her independent production company - MINA Films with the aim to promote emerging talents with a unique cinematic voice, to develop and produce fiction, documentary and experimental films which explore boundaries of film narration and search for idiosyncratic visual language. With her experience as a film editor who works close to the creative process, in MINA films she intends to build strong and genuine connections between the directors and the production process.
