biography

Yohann Cornu created Damned Films in 2011, first focused on releasing in theaters 1st and 2nd feature films from talented filmmakers, which have been selected in international festivals like Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight, Venise, Rotterdam, Sundance. Amongst those films, CASA GRANDE, by Fellipe Barbosa, MELODY, by Bernard Bellefroid, TWO GATES OF SLEEP, by Alistair Banks Griffin, NEON BULL, by Gabriel Mascaro and THE DAYS BEFORE, by Karim Moussaoui. In 2014, Damned extended its activity to production, in order to follow the filmmakers in their new projects, keeping the same focus on the artistic heart of the film.

His selective filmography includes films such as: DOMINGO (2018) directed by Clara Linhart and Fellipe Barbosa in co-production with ARTE France Cinéma and with the support of CNC Aide aux cinémas du monde premiered at Venice’s Giornate degli Autori; GABRIEL AND THE MOUNTAIN (2017) by Fellipe Barbosa in co-production with ARTE France Cinéma and with the support of CNC Aide aux cinémas du monde premiered at Cannes’ Critic’s Week (France 4 and Fondation Gan awards;, DON’T SWALLOW MY HEART, ALLIGATOR GIRL!
