Renata Sancho was born in April 1973, she works and lives in Lisbon. Since 2013 she has been the manager of Cedro Plátano (production and distribution Company).
She is also a documentary director and works as an editor.
She was chosen as the Portuguese participant in Emerging Producers 2019 which took place during the Ji.hlava IDFF 2018 and 69th Berlinale 2019.

Cedro Plátano is a film production and distribution company founded by Renata Sancho (in 2013) it produces mainly documentaries and artistic projects (visual arts, publishing books, performance and theater). Apart from working on production and distribution, Cedro Plátano also provides audiovisual post-production and training/formation services.

Cedro Plátano is co-producing, together with the production company 59 en Conserva, "La Visita", a documentary directed by Irene M. Borrego with the financial support of the Portuguese Institute for Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA) and the Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales (ICAA) (Spain).

Recently, Cedro Plátano had the theatrical release in cinemas in Portugal of the documentary "Almirante Reis Avenue in 3 Movements" (2018) premiered at Doclisboa '18. It has produced "Field Notes" (2017) directed by Catarina Botelho also premiered in Doclisboa' 17 and "The Invisible Island" (2018) Rui Almeida Paiva’s directorial debut, screened the Green Years section, in DocLisboa'18.
Currently in post-production the feature documentary “Between Islands” directed by Amaya Sumpsi.
