Biography

Mbabazi Sharangabo Philbert Aimé holds a B.A from Haute École d’Art et de Design in Geneva in cinema department. His school films "The Liberators" and "Versus" screened in festivals such as Vision du Réel Nyon, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Tampere, Oberhausen and Uppsala Short Film Festival. His recent short film "I Got My Things And Left" won the Grand Prize at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in 2019 has screened at more than 20 film festivals including IFF Rotterdam, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Internationale Kurzfimtage Winterthur, Go Short Nijmegen, Indie Lisboa and ISFF Hamburg, FIFF Namur to name a few. He runs Imitana Productions, a production company in Kigali-Rwanda which produced his work and ones of the vibrant young filmmakers' scene in Kigali. He is currently writing his first feature film SPECTRUM, set in Geneva.
