Ana Lambarri

Film Director, Scriptwriter

I studied Fine Arts at the Public University of the
Basque Country (2001 to 2006). When I finished my
degree, I moved to Madrid. Where I studied two years
of film directing at the Instituto del Cine de Madrid.
(2006 to 2008). Since then, I have worked in different
production companies where I have acquired
knowledge in production, directing, scriptwriting.
Between 2010 and 2014 I directed 4 short films that
featured at festivals.
In 2013 I started my casting management project; it is a project that has not stopped
growing and that allows me to make a living while working with actors and actresses.
In 2018 I started the trilogy that I will tell you about a little later. 39 Escalones, a
production company from Madrid, is committed to these stories and production has
started. The Community of Madrid has been with us every step of the way, helping us
with the production of short films. Thanks to this and the commitment of 39 Escalones,
in 2019 we shot 16, which has toured festivals extensively, and has been selected for
example at the Malaga festival and acquired by Movistar +. In 2020 we shot 26, which
is now making its way through festivals and has been acquired by Movistar +. I am
currently immersed in the pre-production of 36, we have received the Movistar + award
and La Pecera at the 58th Gijón International Film Festival. So, we will be shooting this
summer to premiere in the 2021 edition of the festival.
This path that I have narrated has given me the tools and training to start the path to
the feature film. "Todo lo que no sé" (Everything I don't know) is my
debut as director. A film that follows in the wake of the short films and that narrates and raises a
series of issues and realities that interest me. Thanks to the work done I've found my voice, on a story level and on a visual level.
