biography

He studied film and Philosophy and Master Creative Documentary in Pompeu Fabra University. He has made The Hidden City, awarded with the Best documentary film in Feroz awards 2020 and the full Lenght documentary Edificio España (2012) nominated to GOYA Awards for best documentary. He's author of other medium and short films as The stone (2013) and The stranger (2009) awarded internationally. His films has been shown in more than 100 international festivals as IDFA, San Sebastián, Karlovy Vary, Viennale, San Francisco, Bafici o Visions du reel and exhibited in places as the Lincoln Center (New York), The Pompidou Museum (Paris), the Barbican Center (London) and Reina Sofia Museum (Madrid). He also work in video installations presented in Cineteca Matadero (Madrid) and MIAC de Lanzarote and teaches at several film schools. He had offered master classes about his films in universities such as La Sorbonne (Paris) or the University of Southern California (Los Angeles). Between 2015 and 2017 he was the artistic director of the Muestra de Cine of Lanzarote, Canary Islands.

Kino pravda production company is founded in Canary islands in 2011 to produce and co-produce film projects. Since its formation, it has produced the feature films “The Hidden City” (2018), Feroz Award for Best Documentary 2020, “The Building” (2014), nominated for the Goya in 2015 and “Holidays” (2010), the medium-lenght film “La Piedra” (2013) and other shortfilms, all supported by the ICAA of the Government of Spain, the Government of the Canary Islands, Televisión Canaria, TVE, NDR and selected at festivals such as IDFA, San Sebastián, Karlovy Vary, Viennale, San Francisco, Bafici or Visions du reel . Its productions have been screened in centers such as the Lincoln Center in New York, the Pompidou Museum in Paris, the Barbican in London or the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid. Our productions have been also broadcasted by tv channels as TVE, NDR, Canary television, CMM and received the support of EURIMAGES, ICAA, Canary Government, among others. It has also produced the video installations “Interior space” (2019) for the Cineteca Matadero (Madrid), “Ode to Lancelot” (2017) for the Lanzarote Biennal and the 52’ journalist report “El Descrédito” (2015), broadcasted by Documentos TV.
