Clémence Crépin Neel co-founded moderato with Igor Courtecuisse, after they completed the European programme Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris in 2019, with the intention of producing arthouse films projects by talented authors from a diverse background.
Clémence graduated from Sciences-Po Paris in 2015, after studying Philosophy and Law at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and having worked in production companies in France and the United States.

The company moderato was founded in 2019 by Clémence Crépin Neel and Igor Courtecuisse, following the European training Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris. They produce short and feature films, fictions and documentaries, at the crossroads of different genres. Their productions are committed and eclectic, and also driven by an interest in European and international co-productions.

moderato produces many short films with the intention to support their authors, both on short and feature films. Their films have been selected in many festivals such as Premiers Plans d'Angers, IndieLisboa, PÖFF Shorts, Festival de films de femmes de Créteil, Côté Court de Pantin, Palm Springs, Curtas Vila do Conde, Bogota Short Film Festival, the Lille International Short Film Festival, MoMA Doc Fortnight, BFI Film Festival...

They are currently producing their first feature films, including Cuerpo Celeste by Nayra Ilic, co-produced with Chile and Italy, and three other feature films, Pardon me for saying I by Alois Sandner Díaz, Today’s Girls by Joanne Delachair and Miscellaneous News by François Robic. moderato’s authors include Russian director, Alexey Evstigneev, who has already won awards at Visions du Réel, Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, DOK Leipzig, IDFA Talent, Euro Connection, etc ; two Syrians directors, Mohammad Hijazi and Hala Alabdalla, but also Jacky Goldberg, Marie Rosselet-Ruiz, Jérémie Brugidou & Fabien Clouette, Elsa Aloisio, Margaux Dieudonné...
