biography

Diana Păroiu has been working in the film business for 9 years. She produced several films including Sebastian Mihăilescu Mammalia, Ștefan Constantinescu’s Man and Dog (Goteborg 2022, TIFF Cluj 2022 Special Mention) and Mona Nicoară & Dana Bunescu’s The Distance Between Me and Me (Romanian Gopo for Best Documentary 2020), on Ada Solomon’s microFILM, before starting producing with her own production outfit Visual Walkabout. Her current slate includes series & features. Diana is Honorary Vice President of the One World Romania Association, which organises the One World Romania International Documentary & Human Rights Festival. She’s an alumna of EAVE, Rotterdam Producers Lab and EFP Producers on the Move.

Visual Walkabout is a Bucharest-based outfit, run by Diana Păroiu, working on series, features and shorts. Currently in development are high-end TV series concepts by Romanian writer-director Paul Cioran and Romanian Berlin-based playwright and screenwriter Peca Ștefan, as well as new film projects by Igor Cobileanski and Peca Ștefan, among others. Visual Walkabout has previously worked on several projects as associate producer, including Ștefan Costantinescu’s feature MAN AND DOG (Goteborg 2021) and Vlad Petri’s hybrid docu-fiction-experimental short film THE SAME DREAM (Special Jury Mention - Sarajevo 2021). As of 2021, at Visual Walkabout we are focusing on developing original content as a lead production company.
