biography

Roberto is a film producer, he holds a PhD in Visual Cultures from Goldsmiths University of London, nominated European Emerging Producer 2020 (Jihlava DFF), EAVE 2021 graduate, European Genre Forum alumni and member of the European Film Academy.
After studying Art History at Cà Foscari University of Venice, in 2010 I was awarded a PhD in Visual Cultures from Goldsmiths, University of London, with a dissertation on Pier Paolo Pasolini's cinema and poetry. Between 2012 and 2016 I was Assistant Professor in Film and media Studies at Yasar University (Izmir, Turkey), where he taught Documentary Cinema and Visual Cultures and supervised the Documentary practices lab and Short film lab. Since 2021 he is Associate Professor in Cinema studies and practice at LABA Trentino.
In 2016 he established Altrove Films (Trento, Italy), an independent production company producing films, documentaries and new media.
Since 2019 he works as film producer at Albolina Film, focusing on the development of fiction feature films as well as documentaries for the international market.

company profile

Albolina Film was established in 2012 as a film production and service company based in Bolzano (South Tyrol, Italy). After five years gaining experience as service producer and working with established European film companies such as Amour Fou (Austria), Letterbox (Germany), Tempest Film (Germany), since 2017 we started developing our own film and television projects, investing in creative development and hiring key staff also to expand its range of activities into the European and international market.
The first European coproduction as minority co-producer was the documentary AHEAD OF ME THE SOUTH by Pepe Danquart (2020), in co-production with Bittersuess pictures (Germany), in cooperation with NDR (Northern German Broadcasting) and ARTE, German theatrical distribution by Neue Visionen.
As minority co-producer, we are in post-production with the feature film SISTERS by Linda Olte, with main producer Fenix Film (Latvia), project winner of the Italian-Baltic development award for coproduction 2020, supported by Eurimages, Latvian National Film Centre, IDM Film Funding.
Since 2018 Albolina Film participates to the major film markets (EFM Berlinale, Cannes Marchè du Film, IDFA Amsterdam, WEMW Italy) to expand its network and co-production opportunities, promoting the company's development and mission to grow within an European and international dimension.
