Ovsanna is an Armenian writer and director. She received her Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Yerevan State University in Armenia, then moved to New York to study film directing at Columbia University, School of the Arts. Her short film "You Can't go home again" screened at Lincoln Center as part of the "Armenian Film at Lincoln Center" series in 2017. Her short film "Tale of the Anguished Gardener" had its international premiere at the 27th Raindance Film Festival. It was also in official selection at Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Armenia and the Pomegranate film festival in Toronto. Her first feature film script, "My Heart Is Like Those Ruined Houses," was selected to be part of the "Armenian-Turkish Cinema Platform" pitching lab and “Bridges industry day. East of West film days” pitching sessions. Ovsanna's most recent short films "A Cloud In Trousers" and “Orphanhood” are currently in post-production. In 2021 through a closed voting system “Orphanhood” was awarded the best cinematography award for a short film by the Armenian guild of cinematographers.
