biography

Born 1974 in Vienna, Austria. Currently based in Berlin, Germany.
Stage debut at the age of 5. Stages and choreographes her first musical at age 11.
Graduates from high school with a grade point average of 1. 

Two completed studies in Musical and Musical Theater Directing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Master of Arts 2000.
TV debut as an actress in a leading role 1996, since then embodied more than 60 roles.
Becomes widely known to the European audience with her leading role Rabe („raven“) in the RTL action series WILDE ENGEL („WILD ANGELS“).

Stays abroad in Los Angeles, London and Sydney from 1998 on, regular master classes in Method Acting, Editing, Choreography and Movement
Direction, Master Course in High-End Blocking & Staging.

In 1996 she writes, directs and produces her first musical show. Since then she has continuously produced her own and other artist's projects.
Her first produced feature film FREAK CITY premieres at INTERNATIONAL HOF FILMFESTIVAL in 2020, the film is currently on festival tour and starts with a national cinema tour in October 2021.

Birgit Stauber is a member of Equity UK and the Austrian Film Academy. Since winter 2018 on the board of directors of Pro Quota Film Germany, fighting for gender equality and diversity in the German film industry. Currently filming the feature documentary BURLAZZ in Greece and Germany. (Sep 2021)
