Screenwriter and director from Barcelona. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from the University of Southern California and a BFA in Audiovisual Communication from Pompeu Fabra University and the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a member of the European Film Academy and the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
His first documentary work, the short film Fist & Steel (2014), was selected in over 50 international film festivals and got him numerous awards, such as Best Young Director at Sitges International Film Festival. That year he founded Fractal 7 Films along with Borja Barrera and Marc Guanyabens, two university colleagues.
Featured by Variety in 2016 as one of the upcoming Catalan filmmakers to follow, that same year he directed the feature documentary The Brave Class, an analysis of the political impact of language that was theatrically released in Spain and nominated for Best Documentary at the Catalan Film Academy’s ‘Gaudí’ Awards.
He has most recently been recognized by the Directors Guild of America with the Jury Award for Best Latino Director at the Student Film Awards for the sci-fi short film Perfectly Natural (2018), which five million people have watched since its online release on DUST Channel (Gunpowder & Sky).
He has worked in the development departments of Lionsgate, Endurance Media, and La Panda in Los Angeles, and has developed projects as a screenwriter for Atresmedia and Movistar+ in Spain. In 2022 he became a Professor of Dramaturgy and Screenwriting at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona, Spain).
He is currently developing Moderation, his first narrative feature film, along with producers Belén Atienza (‘The Orphanage’, ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’) and Sandra Hermida (‘Biutiful’, ‘The Innocent’), as well as two narrative TV series for Spanish studios Mediapro (‘The Young Pope’, ‘Carnage’) and Zeta (‘Elite’).
