biography
After graduating with honors in broadcasting from Chulalongkorn university, Pornmanus started her film career as a director for “Bird’s Eye View”, a Thai production house. She directed TV programs and VDO Cooperate/Commercial for prestige clients including Thai Airways International, Toshiba, and The Rose Garden.
During her career, she received an artistic scholarship award and earned a Masters Degree in Film and Television from Southern Methodist University in the US where she spent 4 years studied and worked in both producing and production field. In 2008 she wrote and directed a web drama called ‘D-Town’ produced by James V. Hart (writer of Dracula, Contact, and Hook). She then won an Emmy Foundation Internship Awards and was trained as a directing intern at NBC Universal. She also independently worked for AFI and subsequently moved to New York City to produced films for one year before moving back to Thailand in 2011 to accept a position with Kantana Group and The National Federation of Thai Film Associations as a producer/project manager for the commissioned film project.
In 2013, she produced hybrid-drama film, Karaoke Girl, which traveled to 30 film festivals around the world and won Jury Prize at San Diego Asian Film Festival and Tokyo Filmex International Film Festivals.
During 2015-2021 Pornmanus began her career path as a showrunner for Channel3, one of the biggest TV station in Thailand, her contents were simulcasted around Asia on top Asian OTT; VIU iQiYi WETV. However, her love for cinema is still there, she produced another 2 documentary features during 2017-2020; one of them, One Take, was the first Thai Feature Doc Original on Netflix.
Currently, Pornmanus works on her own company, “My Shot”, to create films and series with ultimate goal of making Thai content reach a global audience.
