Born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1958. In 1982 graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Cinema ( film and TV directing). From 1982 to 1990 worked as assistant director for documentaries and fiction films; director of several documentary short films. Specialized in film production in London, UK (1995, British Council scholarship) and in Berlin (1997-98, NIPKOW Program scholarship). Founded a production company, KLAS Film in 1995.
Member of EFA since 2002; member of various selection and festival juries including Sofia FF, Karlovy Vary IFF, Cyprus Film Days.

Founded in 1995 by former film director Rossitsa Valkanova, KLAS Film has produced some of the most renowned Bulgarian titles in the past twenty years such as Letter To America (2001), Investigation (2007) and The Prosecutor, the Defender, The Father and his Son (2015) by Iglika Triffonova, Christmas Tree Upside Down (2006) by Ivan Cherkelov & Vassil Zhivkov, Shelter (2010) by Dragomir Sholev, Godless (2016), by Ralitza Petrova. Minority co-producer of Blind (2007) by Tamar van den Dop and Aferim! by Radu Jude. Line producer of The Way I Killed A Saint (2002), I Am From Titov Veles (2007) & The Woman Who Brushed Her Tears (2012) by Teona Strugar Mitevska, and Tilt (2010) by Victor Chuchkov Jr.
