Fred Rowson is an award-winning writer-director, and a BFI Network mentee. His short films, Pauline and Rodney, have screened at numerous British and international film festivals, including the Bristol Encounters, Raindance – where he was nominated for best UK short – Palm Springs and more. His short film Woodhouse won the Film London Best of Boroughs Jury Prize, and went on to screen at the London Film Festival, the Leeds International Film Festival, Hollyshorts, and others. Fred’s latest short film, Palo Santo, is a musical science fiction drama. Created with and starring Olly Alexander, of the band Years & Years, Palo Santo premiered to great acclaim in 2018 and saw Fred collaborate with, among others, Judi Dench, Ben Whishaw, and cult Thai actor Vithaya Pansringarm (Only God Forgives). Fred’s music video and commercial work has been nominated for, and won, several high profile industry awards, at the UK Music Video Awards, the Ciclope Festival, and numerous others. Fred has two other features in development, and is represented by Independent Talent and Blink Productions.
