biography

Miguel Clara Vasconcelos (Lisbon 1971) is a film director and writer. His first feature film, Silent Meeting (2017, 83’), won the Award for Best Portuguese Feature Film at IndieLisboa. The Golden Triangle (2014, 18’) won the Best Film Award at Curtas Vila do Conde International Short Film Festival and was selected for Rotterdam, Edinburgh, Janela in Recife, Brazil, DokumentART in Neubradenburg, Germany, among other festivals. His short-films Depart (2004, 3’), Moments (2007, 20’) and Mya’s Universe (2010, 11’), and his documentaries Boxing File (2005, 53’), EX (2007, 54’) and Fighting Darkness (2010, 40’) have been acclaimed by critics and public and won several awards worldwide. He has a Master’s degree in Cinematographic Studies, Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris 2012, post-graduate degree in Art and New Technologies, European University, Madrid 2003, studied Classical and Portuguese Languages and Literature, Universities of Lisbon and Coimbra 2000 and attended the course of Economics, ISEG, Lisbon 1992.
