biography

Jamila Wenske was born in 1975 and grew up in Berlin. She graduated 2005 with the feature film and prestigious German Max Ophüls audience award winner CHILDREN OF THE MOON at the German film university HFF KONRAD WOLF in Babelsberg. She did her post-graduate Master Atelier Network for European junior producers in Paris and Ludwigsburg. In 2005 she won the Silver Bear at the Berlinale with her short film JAM SESSION. Jamila has been the production manager for large feature films, including Hans-Christian Schmid’s international co-production STORM, which premiered in competition at the Berlinale in 2009 or Geraldine Bajard’s LA LISIERE (THE EDGE), which had it’s world premiere in Locarno 2010. In 2014 Jamila was selected for the Ateliers du Cinéma Européen program, is member of the ACE Producers Network and the European Film Academy.

One Two Films was founded in October 2010 by Jamila Wenske, Sol Bondy and Christoph Lange in Berlin. Our focus is feature films for the international market and competitive television. The films are divided into director- and producer driven projects.

In the last 6 years we produced 6 feature films: the 2012 Max Ophüls’ audience award winner, PUPPE, ICKE & DER DICKE (DOLL, THE FATSO & ME) by Felix Stienz, the Israeli-German coproduction YOUTH by Tom Shoval, which celebrated its international premiere at the Berlinale Panorama 2013, WHISPERS BEHIND THE WALL, a first feature for TV by Grzegorz Muskala which premiered in Rotterdam, the Danish-German co-production with Zentropa I AM HERE, directed by Andreas Morgenthaler and starring Kim Basinger, which is being sold by TrustNordisk, and finally the Indian-German co-production ANGRY INDIAN GOD-DESSES by Pan Nalin, which won recently the People´s Choice Award RUNNER UP at TIFF and will be released this summer in Germany through NFP. Currently the international co-production THE HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MÄKI by Finnish first timer Juho Kuosmanen won the Un Certain Regard Main Award of the Official Selection of Cannes 2016.
