Tunje Berns (Dutch/Swiss) was born 1979 in Amsterdam, but grew up in California and Portugal.

From 1994 she was in Holland, where she completed high school and started studying Law at the University of Amsterdam. After some stints on short-film sets of the Nederlandse Film & Televisie Academie (Dutch Film School in Amsterdam) she decided to study film.

Tunje moved to Buckinghamshire, UK, where she graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in «Film, Media and Television Studies». After her studies she lived in Portugal, London and Sydney working on various productions (music-video clips, tv-series, short-films, theatre) as a production assistant and later as a production manager.

She moved to Zurich in 2005, where she's currently part of the Dschoint Ventschr Team. She became a partner and producer in the company in 2008. 2007 she was a participant at EAVE producers training and the Script Development Seminar EKRAN at the Wajda Film School in Poland.

She has produced; «Libertad», a feature film by Nicolas Wadimoff (currently in postproduction), «Puppe», a feature film coproduction with Germany by Sebastian Kutzli (2011), «Robber Girls» (2009), a feature film in coproduction with Luxembourg by Carla Lia Monti, and the short films «Heart Pouch» (2010), «The Flower Room» (2009) and «Chronomaniacs» (2007).
