biography

Aleksandra, known by most as Ola, is a Polish writer and director currently working between Poland and the UK.

At 17 she won a nationwide competition for professional screenwriters which encouraged her to enrol in film school. She then studied directing at the Polish National Film School in Lodz and later the National Film and Television School in the UK. She has directed both fiction and documentary films which screened at festivals and showcases around the world and some of them have also been bought by TV channels.

She has also taken part in programs such as TFL's Script&Pitch, CPH:LAB, European Short Pitch or Zurich Masterclass and was a Ministry of Culture scholar in 2014.

She is currently in pre-production of her first feature-length fiction film 'Anatomia' (co-produced by Opus Film in Poland and Kometa Films in France), and in post-production of her first feature length documentary 'I Was Here'.

Ola also teaches screenwriting at the Lodz Film School and has been keenly involved in a number of social initiatives, which are a big part of her life.
